Supporting Emotional Wellness
At East Rand Palliative Care, we recognise that facing a serious illness is not only a physical challenge but an emotional journey for both patients and their loved ones.
Our counselling services are designed to provide compassionate support through these trying times. Our experienced social workers offer a safe space for patients and families to express their feelings, fears, and hopes, helping them navigate the emotional complexities of illness.
Our Counselling Services Include:
Individual Support
Personalised sessions that offer a listening ear and professional guidance to individuals navigating the challenges of illness and caregiving.
Family Counselling
Support for families to help manage the emotional stress and changes that come with a loved one’s serious illness.
Coping Strategies
Tools and techniques to deal with stress, anxiety, and the emotional impact of illness, tailored to each individual’s needs.
Our goal is to ensure that every patient and family member feels heard, supported, and empowered to face the challenges ahead with resilience and hope.
How To Access Palliative Care
Patients needing palliative care can contact us themselves, via a family member, patient’s doctor, social worker or other appropriate person. The important thing to note is that the patient must want palliative care and be aware that we have been approached. Patients can be registered by phoning the Intake Officer on 011 422 1531 between the hours of 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday or email intake@erpc.org.za Download the Medical Report Form.
Once intake documentation has been completed and a medical report from the patient’s doctor has been received, a nursing sister from East Rand Palliative Care will do an assessment visit.
